Wales Unveil New SUDU Away Kit for 2026-27

Wales have officially unveiled their new 2026-27 away kit, with SUDU delivering a striking yellow design inspired by Welsh heritage and one of the country’s most recognisable national symbols.
Named “Melyn ar Daith”, the new Wales away shirt arrives in a rich day lily yellow, or Melyn, representing the colour of the Welsh daffodil. The flower has been used as a symbol of resilience, optimism and hope, providing the inspiration behind a kit designed to represent Cymru when playing away from home.
Welsh Heritage Inspires the 2026-27 Wales Away Shirt
The Wales 2026-27 SUDU away shirt shares its underlying design concept with the new home kit, incorporating a bespoke pattern influenced by traditional Welsh tapestry.
SUDU worked with inspiration from fabrics and archives held by Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales, combining elements from different heritage tapestry designs to create a new pattern. The detailing also pays tribute to the traditional craft of Welsh double cloth weaving.
Rather than dominating the shirt, the pattern is worked subtly through the yellow base, becoming more noticeable when viewed up close.
The colourway is particularly significant. Wales have returned to the deep yellow associated with the daffodil, with the national team having previously worn a similar yellow away colour during the 2020-22 period.
Dark Green Details Complete the Look
Contrasting Scarab green provides the secondary colour across the new Wales away kit.
A traditional rib-knit polo collar features green colouring with yellow tipping, while matching striped detailing appears around the sleeve cuffs. Fine dark piping around the shoulders and sides adds further definition to the silhouette.
The SUDU logo appears on the right side of the chest opposite the famous Wales crest, allowing the bright red dragon to provide another splash of colour against the yellow background.
The shirt is paired with Scarab green shorts featuring yellow piping, while yellow socks complete the full 2026-27 Wales away strip.
Another detail incorporated into the collection is the Welsh motto “Gorau Chwarae Cyd Chwarae”, translating as “Best Play is Team Play”.
SUDU Continue Their New Wales Partnership
The away shirt forms part of SUDU’s first major Wales kit collection, with the manufacturer working closely with first-team players during the development process.
Alongside the match kit, Wales have also launched new away pre-match and training collections. The pre-match range takes inspiration from Yma o Hyd, while the training collection features geometric graphics influenced by Welsh pit headgear and the country’s industrial heritage.
The new Wales 2026-27 SUDU away kit is expected to make its senior international debut when the men’s national team travel to Portugal in September.
With its combination of daffodil yellow, traditional green detailing and a pattern rooted firmly in Welsh textile history, SUDU have produced an away shirt that feels unmistakably Welsh while offering something very different from the traditional red home colours.
