Football kit news from Serie A in Italy as SPQR appeared on the front of the AS Roma shirts against AC Milan in today’s 1-1 draw.

It’s rumoured that 2022-23 shirt sponsor, Digitalbits have failed to make a payment to the Italian side so they have taken the decision to remove the logo from today’s match day shirts and replace it with SPQR which stands for “Senatus Populusque Romanus” and translates as “The Senate and the People of Rome” which has been a symbol of Rome since ancient times.

It’s currently unclear if SPQR will feature on the AS Roma jerseys for the remainder of the season or if this is a one off.
