Football kit news with a difference this lunchtime as the new Melchester Rovers home 2018-19 kit made by Hummel has been revealed by Roy of the Rovers legend, Roy Chase.

Football fans young and old are in for a treat as the legendary Roy of the Rovers comic strip is making a comeback!

Roy of the Rovers first appeared in Tiger a British comic magazine back in 1954. The comic strip followed the life and times of fictional character Roy Race who played for Melchester Rovers.

The revamped Roy of the Rovers comic sees the younger looking Roy Race aged 16 years old beginning his career for Melchester Rovers who’s kits are now made by Hummel!

Melchester Rovers 2018-19 Home Kit

The 2018-19 Melchester Rovers home shirt has a red base colour with yellow sleeves. A red stripe runs along the top of the sleeves where it meets the cuffs which are also coloured red.

Yellow Hummel chevrons are placed on the red stripe running from the side of the collar to the end of the shoulders.

White Hummel lettering is placed on the right breast whilst a yellow monochrome Melchester Rovers badge is placed on the left breast.

Popular podcast, ‘The Totally Football Show” sponsor the new Melchester Rovers Kit 2018-19.

The Melchester Rovers strip is completed with red shorts with yellow trim and predominantly yellow socks with red details.

The new-look Roy of the Rovers will make its debut in a serialised strip in BBC Match of the Day magazine running weekly from 5 June through to 21 August. Match of the Day magazine was home to the Roy of the Rovers comic strip between 1997 and 2001.
