Aston Villa and adidas have continued their partnership with the new Aston Villa 2026-27 third kit, introducing a distinctive light blue design inspired by the club’s historic home, Villa Park.
The latest shirt takes a noticeably different approach to Villa’s traditional home colours, combining a pale sky-blue base with claret detailing and an intricate tonal graphic running across the jersey.
Villa Park Inspires the 2026-27 Third Shirt
One of the standout features of the Aston Villa 2026-27 adidas third shirt is its swirling all-over pattern. The design takes inspiration from the decorative gates associated with Villa Park, bringing an element of the stadium’s architecture directly onto the shirt. Earlier details surrounding the kit had also pointed towards the Villa Park gates as the inspiration for the graphic.
The pattern is worked subtly into the light blue fabric, giving the shirt plenty of character without overpowering the overall design.
Claret is then used extensively for the finishing touches, appearing around the crew-neck collar, sleeve cuffs and adidas shoulder detailing.

Another notable feature is the centralised branding. The adidas Performance logo appears in claret above the full-colour Aston Villa crest, creating a clean, symmetrical appearance.
It is a particularly effective combination against the pale blue background and gives the shirt something of a retro football-kit feel while retaining a modern adidas construction.
The back of the jersey also contains another Villa Park reference, with a small graphic of the stadium positioned beneath the collar.
A Sponsor-Free Look
The launch images show the new Villa third shirt without a front-of-shirt sponsor, allowing the intricate pattern, adidas branding and club crest to dominate the design.
Aston Villa have confirmed separately that their 2026-27 adidas shirts sold through club retail channels will feature Visit Rwanda branding from August 7, so supporters may see different retail configurations of the season’s shirts.
The shirt is completed by claret shorts featuring light blue adidas stripes and claret socks, producing a smart reversal of Villa’s famous colour combination.

The third shirt follows a similar philosophy but uses the architecture and identity of Villa Park rather than a specific historic kit as its main inspiration.
With its light blue colourway, claret detailing, central crest and elaborate Villa Park-inspired pattern, the Aston Villa 2026-27 third kit is certainly one of the more distinctive adidas designs produced for the club.
