York City legend Graeme Crawford helped unveil the commemorative ‘Y Front’ shirt with current first team players at the clubs home ground Bootham Crescent. The kit celebrates the club’s fair well to Bootham Crescent as they move into a new stadium next season. The York City commemorative kit will be worn for the final home game of the season.

The 2019 York City Y Front shirt is inspired by that worn by the club during 1974-76 and sees a maroon jersey featuring a large white ‘Y’ on the front of the football shirt.

On the right breast is a black Under Armour logo whilst on the left breast is the current York City crest. In between the two is the original York City coat of arms.

Benenden Health have their logo in the centre of the football shirt coloured maroon.

Everyone used to like wearing this shirt and I think the design is now synonymous with York City Football Club.

Former York City goalkeeper Graeme Crawford said, “I went to watch the team playing at Leamington last season and there were City supporters still wearing the ‘Y-Front’ shirt.

“It was also a lucky shirt back in the Seventies and, hopefully, it will be as lucky again,” he added. “The new version puts a modern take on an old design and I really like it.”
