Later today the main sponsor of The Football League Sky Bet will be auctioning off matchworn poppy shirts worn by the players during this weekends Championship fixtures as part of their #BidToRemember campaign.
All proceeds from the matchworn shirt auction will go directly to The Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal which supports the Armed Forces.
Sky Bet’s Head of Sponsorship Edwin Martin said: “This is a cause that resonates with everyone in the country, especially this year, the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War 1 in 1914.
“We know Football League club supporters to be hugely passionate people, who always throw their support behind the Poppy Appeal.
“At Sky Bet, we would like to thank the Sky Bet Championship clubs, who have agreed to do things differently this year, in recognition that, together, we can make a bigger difference than ever before.”
The signed matchworn shirts will be added to Sky Bet’s ebay account after today’s fixtures through until Monday November 10th.
