Soccer news from the NWSL as the new Racing Louisville FC 2021-22 Nike kits were officially unveiled yesterday.
The 2021-22 Racing Louisville FC kits designed by Matthew Wolff are inspired by the fleur de lis which is a feature of the city’s history and culture.
The jersey has a ‘midnight violet’ base colour with lily flowers in bloom scattered over the jersey in addition to bees and butterflies in a nod to Louisville native Muhammad Ali, one of boxing’s greatest and one of the most famous lines ‘float like a butterfly, sting like a bee’.
A white Nike logo is placed on the right breast with a monochrome Racing Louisville FC badge on the left breast.
The lily flowers, butterflies and bees pattern continues on the back of the football shirt.
The Racing Louisville away jersey 2021-22 is white with lavender coloured traditional fleur de lis symbols scattered over the shirt.
The side panels and the trim on the neck is coloured lavender whilst the Nike logo on the right breast and the GE Appliances shirt sponsor are coloured black.
On the left breast is a lavender monochrome club badge.
Speaking of the new kits club president Brad Estes said, “We are thrilled to be revealing the inaugural Racing Louisville FC kits to the world,”
“Collaborating with Matthew was an awesome experience from beginning to end. From the home top with beautiful lilies and a nod to Ali, to the clean and classic away shirt, these are true works of art.”
