1973 Leeds United v Sunderland FA Cup Final Programme
Original official programme from the 1973 FA Cup Final between Leeds United and Sunderland, played at Wembley Stadium on 5 May 1973.
The final produced one of the most famous upsets in FA Cup history. Second Division Sunderland defeated holders Leeds United 1-0, with Ian Porterfield scoring the only goal of the game.
Sunderland goalkeeper Jimmy Montgomery also produced one of the defining moments of the final with his celebrated double save, helping Bob Stokoe’s side complete their remarkable Wembley victory.
The triumph gave Sunderland their second FA Cup success and their first since 1937, with captain Bobby Kerr lifting the trophy at Wembley.
The programme also commemorates Wembley Stadium’s Golden Jubilee, with the cover carrying the dates 1923-1973 and the original cover price of 15 pence.
A classic original FA Cup Final programme from one of the competition’s most memorable giant-killing victories.
