Australian A-League side Melbourne Heart FC have revealed their new fan designed football shirt manufactured by Kappa.
Kappa and official shirt sponsors MatchWorks ran a competition for fans of Melbourne to design a new third kit for the Aussie club.
The competition was won by Sam Hernandez who entered the competition last year and came third.
“I entered the competition last season and missed out, finishing in the top three; however, I think my entry this year was much stronger,” Sam said.
“The colour represents the Club’s great supporters, with the Yarraside having openly adopted charcoal as the Club’s unofficial third colour, while the detailing and trim on the kit adds a depth of class.
“I’d just like to thank the club and Kappa for the initiative, allowing fans to engage with the club and it’s amazing to think that the boys will be wearing my kit on the pitch.”
Sam will receive the shirt he designed that will be signed by the whole Melbourne Heart FC squad.
The best 3 entries were selected and then the winner was picked by the Head Coach John Aloisi and captain Fred.
The new charcoal Melbourne football shirt will make its first appearance in the clubs Hyundai A-League side for a one-off occasion against Perth Glory FC in the round 20 clash at AAMI Park on 9/2/13.
