Football kit news from Italy as special limited edition AS Roma ‘Assieme’ home and third 2019-20 shirts have been released to raise funds for Roma Cares, the clubs foundation in order to fight Covid-19.
The ASSIEME logo is placed in the centre of the limited edition 2019-20 home and third shirts.
Last week the ASSIEME campaign was set up to support the most needy people during the Coronavirus.
Francesco Calvo the head of the Roma Cares Foundation said, “We launched the ASSIEME campaign to make the Giallorossi fans feel our closeness, although there is no possibility of being able to experience the stadium next to them.
In this difficult moment, we have always felt the support of the fans and we have tried to meet the most needy people. With the funds raised thanks to the donations of Jim Pallotta, Roma Cares, our players, fans and partners, we have already purchased and distributed eight lung ventilators, eight intensive care beds and over 45 thousand health facilities including protective masks, gloves and sanitizing gel. With the rest of the proceeds, we ordered thousands of protective devices that will be provided to hospitals to support the next phase of the crisis.”
“As regards the proceeds from the sale of the limited edition ASSIEME shirts, Roma Cares is already in contact with the Lazio Region and with the Civil Protection to be able to offer them a useful contribution to the next phases of the emergency”.
Only 350 AS Roma ASSIEME home shirts and 150 third shirts were made available with the latter already selling out.
