Genoa CFC and Kappa have unveiled the club’s new 2026-27 third kit, with the latest Rossoblù shirt celebrating the maritime identity of Genoa and the club’s historic British roots.

Released as Genoa celebrate their 133rd anniversary, the new third shirt takes a different approach to the club’s famous colours, combining history, football and the city’s close relationship with the sea.
Red and Navy Hoops for Genoa
The Genoa 2026-27 third shirt features horizontal hoops in the club’s traditional dark red and deep navy blue.

Rather than using the familiar half-and-half arrangement associated with Genoa home shirts, Kappa have turned the Rossoblù colours sideways to create a bold striped appearance.
The horizontal design also gives the shirt a distinctly nautical feel, fitting for a club representing the historic Italian port city.
Gold Kappa and Grifone Details
Gold detailing provides one of the standout features of the new Genoa third kit.
The traditional Kappa Omini logo appears in gold on the chest, with additional Kappa branding positioned on the sleeves.

Genoa’s famous Grifone is also presented in gold, with Kappa opting for a standalone version of the griffin rather than the club’s complete shield. The design is inspired by Genoa imagery from the 1990s and gives the shirt a particularly clean, retro appearance.
Gold is also used for the shirt sponsor, creating a consistent finish across the jersey.
Union Jack Celebrates Genoa’s British Origins
One of the most interesting details appears on the back of the shirt.

A small Union Jack is positioned directly beneath the collar, referencing the British origins of Genoa Cricket and Football Club.
Founded in 1893, Genoa have a unique place in Italian football history and are the country’s oldest active football club. The British connection forms an important part of that story and has been incorporated directly into the new third shirt.
It is a subtle detail but one that gives the design considerably more meaning than a conventional alternative kit.
A Shirt Inspired by Genoa’s Maritime Heritage
The launch campaign leans heavily into the relationship between Genoa and the sea, with the shirt photographed aboard a traditional sailing boat.
That maritime theme works particularly well with the horizontal red and navy stripes, while the combination of the Union Jack and historic Grifone brings together different elements of the club’s identity.
Navy shorts and socks featuring complementary red and gold detailing complete the Genoa 2026-27 third kit.
