Football kit news from Germany as FC Schalke 04 have this morning terminated their sponsorship deal with Gazprom with immediate effect.

The 2 Bundesliga have taking the decision to end the contract early with the Russian energy giant due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Schalke have stated that they are actively looking for a new shirt sponsor after covering up the ‘Gazprom’ logo on their shirts with ‘Schalke 04’ text during the 1-1 draw with Karlsruhe the weekend.

In a statement the club have said that the termination of the contract does not effect its financial capabilities.
