FA Charge Newcastle United Over U18’s Kit

News from the English Premier League as Newcastle United have been charged by the FA after a breach of kit and sponsorship regulations.

The charge relates to the Newcastle United U18’s team wearing the 2017-18 football shirts featuring the clubs Fun88 shirt sponsor logo.

A club statement said, “Newcastle United have been charged for their Under-18s team wearing football shirts bearing the logo of a betting company, in breach of the FA’s kit and advertising regulations.”

“The club have until 6pm on 27 March 2018 to respond to the charge.”

An FA rule states it will not allow teams with players under the age of 18 to wear the logos of companies considered “detrimental” to young people.
