Dunfermline Athletic will pay tribute to one of the club’s longest-serving members of staff today as former kitman Mo Hutton celebrates his testimonial match after an incredible 33 years of service to the Pars.

Dunfermline welcome Aberdeen to KDM Group East End Park on Saturday 3 October 2026 for “A Match for Mo”, with the special testimonial fixture kicking off at 2pm.
For anyone who appreciates the work that goes on behind the scenes at a football club, it is a particularly fitting tribute. Kitmen are rarely the people in the spotlight, but Mo Hutton has been a familiar figure at Dunfermline for more than three decades.
33 Years With Dunfermline Athletic
Mo first became involved with Dunfermline Athletic in 1993, initially working as a volunteer youth coach under Bert Paton and Dick Campbell.
He later moved into the kitman role in 1999 and became a fixture behind the scenes at East End Park, remaining with the club through countless changes of players, managers and ownership.
Across his 33 years with the Pars, Mo experienced five promotions and was part of the club’s backroom operation for three Scottish Cup finals, as well as League Cup and Challenge Cup final appearances.
His remarkable spell at Dunfermline finally came to an end following the 2026 Scottish Cup Final against Celtic at Hampden Park, bringing the curtain down on one of the longest periods of service by a member of the club’s backroom staff.
Dunfermline Athletic v Aberdeen – A Match for Mo
The final celebration of Mo Hutton’s testimonial year sees Dunfermline Athletic take on Premiership side Aberdeen at East End Park.

It provides players, former colleagues and supporters with an opportunity to recognise someone whose contribution has largely taken place away from the cameras.
For more than three decades, Mo has been responsible for one of those jobs that supporters rarely see in its entirety. Preparing match kits, organising equipment and ensuring everything is exactly where it needs to be are fundamental parts of the matchday operation.
The fact Dunfermline have dedicated an entire testimonial year to their former kitman says plenty about the esteem in which he is held at the club.
Special Mo Hutton Testimonial Shirt
Dunfermline have also produced a fantastic commemorative shirt for Mo Hutton’s testimonial match.
Made by Erreà, the shirt retains Dunfermline Athletic’s famous black and white identity but introduces a distinctive design for the occasion.
Wide black and white vertical stripes run throughout the jersey, with the darker sections incorporating a tonal graphic pattern. Fine red pinstripes provide additional detailing, while red and black trim features around the V-neck collar and sleeves.
The front carries Dunfermline’s club crest alongside the Erreà logo and Gamdom shirt sponsor.
Most importantly, special red lettering has been added centrally to commemorate the fixture:

Mo Hutton Testimonial

A special circular “Mo Hutton 33 Testimonial” badge also appears on the sleeve, incorporating a black and white football shirt and the number 33 in recognition of his extraordinary years of service.
It turns what is already an unusual Dunfermline shirt into something with genuine meaning and a direct connection to the club’s history.
A Proper Tribute to Football’s Behind-the-Scenes People
Testimonials have traditionally been associated with players who spend a decade or more at one club, which makes Mo Hutton’s celebration particularly significant.
Football clubs are about far more than the eleven players who take to the pitch each weekend. Kitmen, ground staff, medical teams, coaches and countless other members of staff keep clubs functioning from one match to the next.
Mo Hutton has spent 33 years doing exactly that for Dunfermline Athletic.
For a website called The Kitman, we couldn’t really let this one pass without recognising it.
A testimonial match, a specially produced football shirt and an afternoon dedicated to the man who spent decades looking after everybody else’s kit seems a very appropriate way for Dunfermline Athletic to say thank you.
Congratulations on an incredible 33 years, Mo.
