The 2019-20 Coventry City third kit was released to mark the 40th anniversary of 2 Tone, a music movement that originated in Coventry and saw the likes of ska and reggae combined with punk rock and new wave music.

Bands such as Madness, The Beat, Bad Manners and The Specials made 2 Tone music famous.

At a time when there were racial tensions in Britain many bands in the 2 Tone music scene were mixed race.

The top half of the 2019-20 Coventry City third shirt is white with the lower half coloured black.

A black and white chequerboard stripe runs through the centre.

Inside the neckline is the Kick It Out anti racism logo whilst on the back of the neck is the ‘Nutty Dancer’.
