International football kit news this morning as Chile covered up the Nike logo on their kit prior to the 1-0 victory over Bolivia in the 2021 Copa America fixture.
The Nike logo on the right breast was covered up with the Chile flag after a dispute with Nike Chile.
The ANFP (the Chilean Football Association) claim they are owed 4.2 million pesos ($5.6 million) by Nike Chile, although the brand say the contract is with parent company Nike European Operations Netherlands BV.
Nike Chile also argue that the payment would only be made if they fulfilled 10 fixtures during July 2019 and July 2020 which was not possible due to the global pandemic.
Since receiving the lawsuit Nike have informed the ANFP of their intention to terminate the contract.
Chile will continue to cover up the Nike logo on their kits until a conclusion is reached.
