Football kit news from Sky Bet League One as the new AFC Wimbledon 2020-21 Puma home kit has been officially unveiled.
The 2020-21 AFC Wimbledon home shirt is blue with nine tonal stripes running across the jersey in reference to the nine years it took the club to get back in the football league. The stripes run in a South West direction in reference to the clubs new postcode, SW19.
A yellow stripe runs across the top of both shoulders.
The collar is yellow with two blue stripes.
A yellow Puma logo is placed on the right breast whilst the AFC Wimbledon badge is placed on the left breast.
Football Manager have their logo in the centre of the football shirt.
The top of the back is coloured yellow with the words ‘Back To Plough Lane’ placed on the top of the back coloured blue.
With the club set to return to Plough Lane imminently designer and AFC Wimbledon supporter Marc Jones wanted to take elements from past kits.
Marc said, “The home shirt has three elements taken from three previous kits. Glyn (Hodges) wore all three when he was a player, and all of them relate to huge moments in our history.”
“The collar – which is yellow with two blue stripes – is from the kit we wore in the old first division and when we won the FA Cup the following season.
“The shoulders are from the kit we wore when Dave Basssett turned us into fourth division champions immediately after we’d been relegated from the third.
“Finally, the faint shadow stripes that run at an angle across the front of the shirt were used when we were promoted out of the old second division into the first.
“Basically, our finest hours at the old Plough Lane are all referred to in this kit.”
